Episode 28

Acts 28: God’s Message Cannot Be Stopped

Acts 28: Paul’s Journey to Rome

In this episode, we explore Acts 28, the final chapter of the Acts of the Apostles. After surviving a shipwreck, Paul and his fellow passengers find refuge on the island of Malta. From a snake bite that should have been fatal to healing many on the island, Paul’s journey is filled with miraculous moments. Eventually, Paul reaches Rome, fulfilling his long-standing desire to spread the Gospel there, even while under house arrest.

Surviving the Shipwreck and Viper Bite: After a dangerous journey at sea, Paul and the others land on Malta, where Paul is bitten by a viper. The locals see this as a sign of divine punishment, but when Paul shakes off the bite unharmed, their view of him changes dramatically. This miracle highlights God’s protection over Paul, even in the face of certain death.

Healing on the Island of Malta: Paul’s mission doesn’t stop at survival. He heals Publius’ father, who is suffering from fever and dysentery, and many others who are sick on the island. His acts of compassion and healing bring the people of Malta to honor Paul and his companions.

Paul’s Arrival in Rome: After a three-month stay in Malta, Paul finally arrives in Rome, where he continues to preach under house arrest. Despite his confinement, Paul’s mission thrives as he welcomes visitors and speaks about the Kingdom of God with boldness and perseverance.

Takeaway: Paul’s story in Acts 28 reminds us that God works through all circumstances. Even when faced with trials, whether it be shipwreck, imprisonment, or danger, God’s purpose prevails. Paul’s unwavering faith shows us that sometimes, the obstacles we face are part of the path to fulfilling our divine mission.

Jill McKinley

I’m Jill from the Northwoods. Professionally, I work in Health IT, where I untangle complex systems and help people use technology more effectively. But at heart, I’m a curious lifelong learner—always exploring how things work, why people grow the way they do, and how even the smallest steps can spark real transformation. That curiosity fuels everything I do, from problem-solving at work to sharing insights through my creative projects.

My journey wasn’t always easy. Growing up, I faced a rough childhood, and books became my lifeline. They introduced me to voices of ancient wisdom, modern psychology, and the natural world around me. Those pages taught me resilience, gave me perspective, and helped me see that wisdom is everywhere—waiting to be noticed, gathered, and shared.
